Vehicle Description This 1956 Chevrolet was built from the ground up.
No expense was spared anywhere inside, outside or underneath this beautiful Bel Air.
Countless receipts, photographs of the entire build and documentation accompanies the vehicle.
We are selling (on behalf of the owner/builder) because age is creeping up and it is time to give this '56 a new home.
The following is the story from Cruisin' Times February 2013- Part of building a '50's mild custom is having a vision and remembering when to stop adding things.
Jack did it perfectly, starting with a basic '56 Chevy 2 door Bel Air which he found in Twinsburg back in the 90's and slowly added kustom treatments.
First, the body was massaged by Randy Adams of Madison Oh.
and two toned sprayed GM Forest Green and Jaguar Silver by Excalibur Auto Body, Medina.
While at the body shop, Jack began the parts search and found most through Rosenberry's Classic Chevy Parts and Summit Racing, Tallmadge.
The old motor was replaced with a 350 ci.
which was blue-printed and dyno tuned by Francis Engines, LeRoy, Oh.
adding lots of chrome with all the stainless polished by King Tut Polishing, Willoughby, Oh.
for show appeal.
The exhaust and headers are by Stainless Works, Chagrin, Falls.
Long Haulin' power comes from the Gear Star 700R-4 trans.
Jacks' 50's vision dictated the 'ol Chevy had to have rolled 'n pleated leather and it had to be White and with that in mind, Gowen brought the car over to Portage Trim, Ravenna, for their stitching magic.
Once the car was home again, Gowen enlisted the artful pinstriping strokes of Mark Swartzlander at East Coast Airbrush, while Chuck Bonick, cut-in the hood louvres.
Stance comes from 2 inch dropped spindles and 2 inch dropped springs, Diamon Back wide whites and steel wheels dressed with Olds Fiesta hubcaps.
Special help came from Bill McGee and a whole lot of friends who stopped by Jacks' house during the build.
